Willow-Pussywillow-Prairie

Not available until January. The absolute earliest plant that blooms with the catkins naturally exposed in mid-February. We market this as Prairie Willow or Purple Heirloom Pussywillow. The blonde bark, thin grassy stems, loads of small dark purple catkins are unique, very prairie looking and distinctly different from the standard heavy and dark pussy willows. When fresh the catkins are dark pink to purple. They will quickly air dry to an ash gray color and contrast nicely with the light bark and airy stems.
